ThinClient Direct (TCD) Limited Hardware Warranty

This Limited Hardware Warranty (“Warranty”) is issued by ThinClient Direct LLC (“TCD”), a Maryland company, and applies to all TCD thin client hardware products (“Products”) sold directly by TCD or through authorized resellers. By purchasing and using a Product, the customer (“Customer”) agrees to the terms, conditions, limitations, and procedures set forth herein.
This Warranty provides the Customer with specific legal rights, subject to the laws of the State of Maryland. The Customer may also have other rights that vary by jurisdiction. Nothing in this Warranty is intended to limit rights under applicable consumer protection laws where such rights may not be waived.
1. Warranty Duration
- Standard Coverage: TCD warrants Products against defects in materials and workmanship for three (3) years from the date of original purchase.
- Extended Coverage: Customers may purchase up to two (2) additional years of extended warranty, for a maximum of five (5) years total coverage.
This Warranty applies only to the original end-user purchaser and is non-transferable. Proof of purchase (invoice, purchase order, or receipt) is required.
2. Support Request & Remedy
- Repair the Product, or
- Replace the Product with a product of equal or greater functionality (new or refurbished), or
- If the original Product is discontinued or cannot be repaired, provide a replacement with the most current model available that offers equivalent or superior functionality.
3. Shipping Responsibilities
- Customer is responsible for shipping the defective Product to TCD, including freight, insurance, and risk of loss.
- TCD will cover return shipping costs to the Customer for in-warranty Products.
- All customs duties, taxes, brokerage fees, documentation charges, and other import/export fees remain the Customer’s responsibility.
- Products damaged during shipping to TCD due to inadequate packaging are not covered by this Warranty.

5. RMA Procedure
- Customer completes the support form thoroughly (see Section 2).
- TCD Technical Support reviews submitted information and conducts remote diagnostics.
- If remote diagnostics determine hardware failure, TCD issues an RMA number with return instructions.
- Customer ships the defective unit with the RMA number clearly marked. Returns without RMA numbers or without required information may be refused or delayed.
- TCD inspects and tests the returned unit. If covered, TCD repairs or replaces; if not, it returns the product “as is.”
- TCD will endeavor to complete warranty service and return shipment within 10 business days after receipt of the defective Product.
6. Exclusions
- Misuse, abuse, neglect, accident, liquid damage, fire, lightning, power surges, improper ventilation, or operation outside published specifications.
- Unauthorized modifications, repairs, or disassembly.
- Products with altered, defaced, or missing serial numbers.
- Normal wear and tear, cosmetic damage, or consumable parts (e.g., packaging, manuals, cables).
- System failures or defects caused by non-TCD hardware or software.
- Damage incurred during Customer’s return shipping due to inadequate packaging.
- Expired warranty coverage.
7. Limitation of Liability
- TCD’s total liability under this Warranty is limited to repair, replacement, or providing a Product of equivalent or superior functionality.
- TCD shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to: loss of profits, business interruption, downtime, or data loss.
- This Warranty is the exclusive warranty offered by TCD and supersedes all other warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
- Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, this Warranty applies to the maximum extent permitted by law.
